After 10 years we finally got around to renovating the girls bathroom. In fairness they only use our bathroom so it just felt like a priority…..I literally only thought about it when people stayed with us. Nothing like company coming into town to make you kick it into high gear. 😅
My over all goal in this space was to make it lighter, brighter and more functional. It’s not a big space and I can only imagine the drama when three teenage girls are sharing it down the road.
To make it brighter- I painted the entire space Steam by Benjamin Moore. Shane hung bead board to give the room some texture and dimension.
To make it feel bigger: I hung 96 inch ceiling curtains to draw the eye up. I also painted the ceiling steam, this helps make low ceilings seem higher.
To make it more functional: We installed a 48 inch double vanity. We also removed the closet door and framed it out. Shane added thick wood trim to the shelves to make them look custom. I added peel and stick wallpaper to make them look awesome.
To make it budget friendly: We did most of the work ourselves but hired a plumber to rework the sink from a single to double. I repainted the existing fan and used rub ‘n’ buff to make the light aged brass! At some point we will replace the tub but that is definitely NOT a DIY project.
