Updating Your Fireplace

The Popa Property is almost done!!

Today I am sharing the fireplace details. You’ve seen me do this at a few other properties. It really is the easiest, quickest and most affordable way to update any fireplace. Obviously, refacing your whole fireplace with stone or brick would be the best option- but that’s not always in the budget. The fireplace is usually the focal point in most rooms, you should love it!

Here is what I do:

1. Deep clean the tile and tape off edges if needed.

2. Prime with Stix primer- I use this for my bathroom floors and all of my diy projects.

3. Paint! I used Benjamin Moore’s Black Beauty in an eggshell finish.

4. For extra protection, seal it with General Finishes matte poly.

5. Done!

Check out some of the before and afters of the Popa Property- We’re still finishing up a few more rooms. Hopefully we’ll have the full reveal in a few weeks!
